How Rolfing Works
®
Connective Tissue Manipulation
Rolfing® targets fascia, the web-like connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, organs and cells. Over time, stress, injuries, or poor posture can cause fascia to become tight or misaligned, leading to tension and restricted movement. Rolfing releases this tension, restoring balance and fluidity.

Movement Education

In addition to hands-on work, Rolfing® includes personalized movement guidance. This helps you move more efficiently and reinforces the structural changes in your body, allowing the benefits of Rolfing® to carry into your daily life.

The 10-Series Framework

Rolfing often follows a structured series of 10 to 15 sessions, each with a specific focus. Starting with the outer layers and progressing to deeper tissues, this systematic approach helps realign the body as a whole, creating lasting improvements in posture, movement, and overall function

.
Rolfing is not just about addressing physical discomfort—it’s also about fostering a more harmonious relationship between your body and the environment, ultimately helping you feel more comfortable and empowered in your own body.

Benefits of Rolfing
®
Many people describe feeling lighter, taller, and more at ease in their breathing and movement after a Rolfing session. They often notice a natural improvement in coordination, balance, and an overall sense of integration in their body.

Unlike treatments that target specific symptoms, Rolfing aims to bring the body's structure and function into a higher level of organization. As the body becomes more aligned and cohesive, symptoms often resolve on their own—not by being directly treated, but as a byproduct of a more balanced system.

What to Expect During a Rolfing Session
®
Personalized Consultation
First session begins with a conversation about your health history, lifestyle, and goals. We’ll also assess your posture and movement patterns to identify areas of imbalance or tension.
Clear Goal-Setting
Together, we’ll define your priorities, whether it’s relieving chronic pain, improving athletic performance, enhancing mobility, or feeling more at ease in your body.
Hands-On Bodywork
Comfortable Attire
Please wear clothing like shorts and a sports bra or underwear that allows access to key areas while keeping you comfortable and covered.

Myofascial Release
Using slow, precise pressure, I’ll work with your fascia (connective tissue) to release tension, improve alignment, and restore balance. Please ensure your skin is clean and free of oils or moisturizer.

Active Involvement
You may be guided to breathe deeply, make small movements, or adjust your posture to help deepen the effects of the work.

Integration and Aftercare
Movement Tips
You’ll receive personalized advice or exercises to help maintain and integrate your alignment into everyday life.

Post-Session Sensations
You might feel lighter, taller, or more balanced after a session. Some soreness is normal as your body adapts to the changes.

Stay Hydrated
Drinking water after a session supports your body’s natural recovery.

Ongoing Support
While many clients notice changes after the first session, lasting results often come from a series of sessions. We’ll regularly assess your progress and adjust the plan to meet your needs.
